A medical device manufacturer came to Syncro Medical with an urgent request for a mobile app to be used for upcoming clinical trials. The concept was to use an Android tablet as the platform for a questionnaire app that the patient was required to fill out each day as part of the clinical trial. In parallel, Syncro Medical did technical prototyping to assess the feasibility of downloading data from a wearable healthband to be merged with the survey information.
Given the success of the prototype, Syncro Medical completed the application in time for the clinical trial. A patient’s healthband data is transmitted via Bluetooth to his/her Android tablet. This data, together with accompanying questionnaire responses is then periodically sent to the Cloud where it is merged with data from other patients in the trial and then processed to support clinical trial analysis.
