FDA-cleared digital cytology system – combining artificial intelligence (AI) with advanced volumetric imaging technology to help cytologists and pathologists identify pre-cancerous lesions and cervical cancer cells.
Our client, a company specializing in women’s health diagnostics engaged Syncro Medical to design and implement high-speed image acquisition and processing for the company’s next-generation system used for cancer detection. We worked in partnership with our client’s hardware developer to design & implement the code required to execute sample handling and motor controls.
In addition, we implemented code to acquire images from cytology slides, capturing approximately 10,000 images per slide. Syncro Medical designed and developed algorithms to perform focus detection and image stitching in order to create an enhanced image to be processed by the ML engine. Syncro Medical worked with our client to refine image processing algorithms that looked for regions of interest, and implemented and optimized Mathematica algorithms into product code.
