Our client, a company specializing in women’s health diagnostics engaged Syncro Medical to design and implement image acquisition and processing for the company’s next-generation system used for cancer detection.
SAMPLE HANDLING & DEVICE CONTROLS
Syncro Medical worked in partnership with our client’s hardware developer to design & implement the code required to execute sample handling and motor controls.
IMAGE ACQUISITION, PROCESSING, AND ALGORITHM IMPLEMENTATION
In addition to sample handling and instrument control, we implemented code to acquire images from cytology slides, capturing approximately 10,000 images per slide, and designed and developed algorithms to perform focus detection and image stitching to create an image for pathologist review. Syncro Medical also worked with our client to refine image processing algorithms that looked for areas of interest and implemented Mathematica algorithms into product code. The workflow accounted for concerns related to patient privacy and HIPAA.
